Who We Are

Inside Voices is an intergenerational conversation focused on the intersection of literature and history.
We are a family that has long shared a passion for literature, and who has always shared the literature we love. While it is true that most of us who show up for Inside Voices share DNA, it is also safe to say that none of us restricts our definition of family to genetics or marriage. Our family homes have often hosted local and international guests, many of whom left the house but not the family. We started the podcast with a core of cousins whose schedules and dispositions allowed for the prioritization of the monthly calls, as well as the queer aunties whose seasonal and birthday gifts rarely strayed from the shape and substance of proffered reading. Over the course of the first season, as school wrapped up, or unceremoniously sent graduating seniors home, we welcomed more of our family into the conversation. Begun as a way to stay in touch during the lockdowns and distances of 2020, the podcast has lasted long beyond that unprecedented time.
